Telematics Expert Donny Seyfer Gives Keynote Address at SERVICE-EDU Automotive Event

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - May 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Donny Seyfer, one of the industry's leading experts on telematics and new car technology, will present "Defining the Connected Car" during his Dallas/Fort Worth area SERVICE-EDUâ„¢ keynote presentation. Seyfer's talk is part of a two-day advanced automotive repair training course May 13-14 at the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) campus at 5151 Regent Boulevard in Irving, Texas.

"Telematics, connected cars and autonomous vehicles are all the new buzzwords that are going to disrupt your business," explains Seyfer, the co-owner of Seyfer Automotive Inc. in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. "Part of a technician's preparation for new vehicles entering their bays is knowing what to prepare for."

Seyfer's keynote address is designed to help technicians understand new technologies and how to position their repair shop for success in what he describes as a "brave new service world." He will provide independent repair shops with a S.W.O.T. (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis for connected cars.

"My bottom line message to shop owners: 'Don't panic, change is profitable,'" said Seyfer.

With more than 30 years of experience, Seyfer is an ASE master mechanic, an ASE certified service consultant, AMI accredited automotive manager and the current chairman of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). Founded in 1961, Seyfer Automotive provides general repair, maintenance and diagnostic services to owners of late model American, Asian VW and Jaguar automobiles and trucks with a special focus on diagnostic and difficult-to-solve problems.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area SERVICE-EDU program kicks off Friday, May 13, with Seyfer's keynote address, along with dinner, orientation and networking from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Training courses are scheduled Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and are taught by leading industry trainers from Gates, MAHLE, NGK Spark Plugs and Timken. Each manufacturer's training course is focused on their area of expertise in the following product categories: accessory belt drive systems (ABDS), coolant systems, engine components, filtration, ignition system, thermal, timing belt systems, tools and equipment and wheel end.

Registration is $49 per person and includes the training courses, along with Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch, and opportunities to win raffle prizes. In addition, NGK Spark Plugs will giveaway a grand prize of two tickets to a Richard Petty Driving experience anywhere in the U.S.
