FORT ATKINSON, Wis. - May 4, 2016 - PRLog -- EMS World Expo, North America's largest and most internationally attended EMS conference and trade show, hosted in partnership with NAEMT, has announced its 2016 Conference Program.

The 5-day event, schedule for October 3-7 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, features a progressive curriculum coupled with many hands-on educational opportunities. Top industry experts will discuss emerging trends in prehospital clinical care, outline the state-of-the-art technologies improving patient outcomes and review the products and services transforming EMS operations.

The dynamic 2016 agenda offers several in-depth, hands-on workshops over two days, followed by the core program which features three days of continuing education across eight dedicated tracks: Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Critical Care, Educator, Leadership, Mobile Integrated Healthcare-Community Paramedicine, Operations and Pediatrics.

The EMS World Expo faculty features over one hundred expert speakers including past favorites Steve Berry, Ken Bouvier, Heather Davis and David Page, as well as many taking to the EMS World Expo stage for the first time.

Keynote speakers include FirstNet President TJ Kennedy, and AMR Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ed Racht. Presenting in a TED Talk-like fashion, Kennedy and Racht will discuss the EMS profession's evolving role in the continuum of care as we journey into the EMS of tomorrow.

New this year, EMS World Expo is partnering with the International Association of Flight & Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP) and the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) to offer up to 29 ½ CEU- hours for critical care practitioners and community paramedics.

"Finding high-quality continuing education that meets the critical care medicine threshold required for FP-C & CCP-C recertification is sometimes a challenge. This partnership with EMS World Expo allows the board-certified paramedic to find fantastic educational sessions geared for both the critical care and community paramedic environment in one easy-to-navigate format," says IBSC's COO John Clark, JD, NREMT-P, FP-C, CCP-C, CMTE. "Additionally, the introduction of hands-on learning CE credit in the exhibit hall creates a fun and interactive way to keep abreast of the newest tools and techniques."

Hands-on educational opportunities abound throughout this year's program. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive didactic and hands-on training with professionally moulaged live patients in an active shooter workshop, and refresh low-frequency, high-risk skills in a clinical skills advancement cadaver lab.  Scalpels and scenarios will be paired with step-by-step video in a cardiac dissection lab and in EMS World Expo's exclusive Simlab, participants will put their clinical skills to the test using the most advanced simulators in the market.

"We are thrilled to return to New Orleans this year to deliver five days of compelling education that addresses the critical issues impacting the prehospital profession," says Conference Director Nancy Perry. "We are facing unprecedented challenges in the field, not only in regard to how EMS fits into a healthcare system that is continually evolving, but also to the safety of our providers. After attending this year's show, you will walk away with a toolkit of knowledge that will enable you to make immediate changes in your agency's operations and delivery of clinical care that will directly improve patient outcomes and provider well-being."

EMS World Expo is co-located with the World Trauma Symposium, an event from the creators of the world-renowned Prehospital Trauma Life Support Program (PHTLS), presenting the latest information on the care of out-of-hospital trauma patients and global trends in trauma care from internationally recognized experts.  The 1-day event will be held on Tuesday, October 4.
