Zen Healthcare IT, LLC welcomes new Director, Solution Architecture

COSTA MESA, Calif. - April 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Zen Healthcare IT, LLC ("Zen") is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Jonathan Bartels to the Zen Team. Jon will serve as Director of Solution Architecture.

Jon is one of the top talents and a highly respected Solution Architect and Engineer in the Health Information Exchange (HIE) space and joins a talented team of Zen Project Executives and Zen Architects/Engineers who provide broad and deep technical expertise to providers, hospitals and HIE's.

I get a real joy out of solving problems" Jon explained.  "Solutions should help real people spend less time with software and more time doing their actual jobs. Along with his unrelenting passion for building solutions, Jon brings over eleven years of computer science and engineering experience to Zen.

For the past seven years Jon has been a key product developer and solution architect for Mirth® (now part of NextGen® Healthcare.) In this role, Jon closely collaborated with Mirth powered HIE's to successfully leverage technology within their community's. The Mirth suite of interoperability tools include Mirth Connect® integration engine, Mirth Results® Clinical Data Repository (CDR), Mirth Match® (EMPI) and Mirth Mail® (Direct secure messaging.)

In addition, Jon has helped design and develop a wide variety of plugins and customizations for major HIE initiatives across the country.  Recent projects include creating a FHIR based integration with a CDR,  designing an approach to handle Behavioral Healthcare data in a statewide HIE, and architecting a 3rd party PACS system integration to a CDR.

Jon has also designed and helped implement connections to the New York statewide EMPI initiative, national drug monitoring programs and state immunization registries, and has broad and deep expertise in healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, CCD/CCDA, IHE, and Direct.

Jon brings valuable expertise to both the Zen team and to Zen clients.

Jon holds a Bachelors of Science in Applied Computer Science from Kent State University.    When not focused on building healthcare interoperability solutions, Jon enjoys spending time with his family in their home in Louisville, Kentucky.
