Bill Neary, a former merchant seaman, is intimately familiar with the South Seas and the exotic Hawaiian landscapes described in God Made Us Monsters.  A graduate of the New York Maritime College, Bill has lived all over the world, but currently calls Glens Falls, New York, his home. He is well-known to local residents as the co-founder of the Toys for Tots Holiday Train, which brings toys to thousands of deserving children every holiday season.

God Made Us Monsters is a gripping tale of vice and virtue in the styles of James Michener and Jack London. Though set amid a tropical paradise on Molokai, the story takes the reader through the figurative hell of a leper colony and the literal hell of a demon's blind pursuit of power.
