Leaping Lemmings Officially Lands in Bookstores Today

ALBANY, N.Y. - Sept. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Leaping Lemmings!, written by John Briggs and illustrated by Nicola Slater, celebrates its official release today, placing it on the shelves of bookstores across the country.

Leaping Lemmings!, the debut picture book for John Briggs, teaches children to think for themselves. All lemmings look alike, sound alike, and act alike – except one. This lemming refuses to jump off cliffs with his friends. He thinks they're nuts. But how does he stop them? This charming, funny, and beautifully illustrated picture book teaches young readers to look (and think!) before they leap.

"I wanted to help my own children be individuals," says children's author John Briggs. "When you think of lemmings, you think of animals that blindly follow each other. The 32-page book is primarily meant for readers 3-8 years old. It uses humor to gently get its point across and help its hero stand out. The book includes 18 bright, full-color illustrations and 10 two-page spreads sure to catch a child's eye. It reached #1 on Amazon's list of children's pre-released books on Peer Pressure and landed as the staff pick at several independent bookstores.

John Briggs is a former nationally syndicated children's TV critic known for several middle-grade biographies, including the best-selling Judy Garland: Little Woman, Big Talent.
