| Scholastic Excellence Celebration Hosted by Kent State's College of Business AdministrationBy: Kent State College of Business Administration Beta Gamma Sigma, a co-ed business honor fraternity, inducted more than 125 members, ranging from sophomores to doctoral degree students. "There is no more prestigious honor for a student than being inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma," said David Dumpe, Ph.D., associate professor of Finance and Beta Gamma Sigma advisor. "For the remainder of a student's career, it will be evident that they graduated in the top 10% of their class from Kent State University's AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration." More than 50 awards were given at the celebration, from leadership awards to scholarship winners. The College of Business Administration's Departments in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management & Information Systems, Marketing & Entrepreneurship and Graduate Programs were also recognized for major academic achievements throughout the 2015-2016 academic year. "The award ceremony is a great way to celebrate the amazing scholastic excellences of students, faculty and staff," said Deborah Spake, dean of the College of Business Administration. "This year 64 undergraduate students received scholarships based on their academics and leadership, equaling more than $98,750. It is very rewarding to see our business students excel in their academic career." The Scholastic Excellence Celebration was held in Cartwright Hall, with more than 400 attendees, parents, friends and College of Business Administration faculty and staff.
