FutureINDesign Announces Test Cohort for Non-Profit Education Technology Startup

By: FutureINDesign

SALT LAKE CITY - April 14, 2016 - PRLog -- FutureINDesign, a not for profit startup in the education and workforce development sector, announced its first cohort of students will begin work on a 30 day apprenticeship program on April 15th. The non-profit offers design and creative training to disadvantaged 16-20 year-old students including a real world training portion. 15 students will participate in the inaugural cohort at Ori Media.

Founded earlier this year by Nicholina Womack, FutureINDesign is rapidly forming partnerships to successfully launch the venture. "Ori Media has been a great partner for us so far," said co-founder Nicholina Womack. "They're putting together our website and social media presence and now they're offering our students this apprenticeship program to get some practical experience," she added. Utah is facing a shortage of qualified technology workers. FutureINDesign plans to address this by producing graduates who are well prepared to start working upon finishing their program.

The organization is also finalizing a partnership with a major software company to provide the technology platform to be used to train their students. FutureINDesign is preparing a crowdfunding campaign at the end of April to help supply some of the funds needed to fulfill this year's budget. The students in the first cohort will be working on the crowdfunding campaign as part of their apprenticeship. "We'll have video to show backers exactly how effective our program is," Womack concluded.
