During February and throughout the month of March 2016, Black Girls Unscripted will incorporate images, artifacts, and memorabilia from the institute across each of its social media platforms in celebration of Women's History Month. Beyond March, Black Girls Unscripted will create messaging that encourages parents, teens, educators, and others in our community to take advantage of this expansive resource. They will also use stories from the institute as a tie-in with their existing program, We Were There, which provides a virtual history lesson on the important accomplishments of African American women. The Google Cultural Institute holds more than 5,000 artifacts of Black history. This is the first time Google Cultural Institute has been made available online to anyone having access to the internet, anywhere in the world. The artifacts were provided to the Institute by museums, historians, cultural institutions, organizations, and universities. The collection of artifacts will be available online for the entire year. Photos posted to social media must include the URL g.co/blackhistory.
