Lanier Islands Turns an Inviting Shade of Green for March with BattleFrog Race & St Pats Beach Bash

BUFORD, Ga. - Feb. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Lanier Islands invites Atlanta adventurers to raise their heartrates AND raise a glass during an exciting and unique observation of St. Patrick’s Day on the Georgia resort’s sunny shores on Saturday, March 19. Playing host to the Atlanta leg of the BattleFrog Obstacle Race Series for the very first time, the lakeside destination hopes to draw large crowds of enthusiastic spectators – as ESPN will be on hand to capture the race for posterity. Throughout the day, Sunset Cove and Big Beach at LanierWorld will also throw a belated St. Patrick’s Day celebration of epic proportions – complete with fun, food, drink specials and rocking music throughout the day and into the night.

The BattleFrog course is a total test for people of all fitness levels from ages 13 and up. The approximate 8K course will take participants through 22+ military-inspired obstacles that will be sure to test them - body, mind and spirit. Volunteers and race officials are throughout the course to motivate participants through the obstacles, urging them to give it their all. From 11 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., guests at Big Beach and Sunset Cove will be treated to games like Knocker Ball, Corn Hole and Volleyball. Pint-sized patrons can partake of the bounce houses on Big Beach, as well as chances to snap a selfie with LanierWorld mascot, Bucky the Beaver. After the race, participants will want to trade their running shoes for dancing shoes and stick around. From 3 to 7 p.m., high energy, modern country music band – 8 Second Ride – takes the stage at Big Beach, and from 7 to 11 p.m. the DJ fires up the Rock 100 party at Sunset Cove.
