Pathway to InnoVAtion Hackathon Austin Winners Announced

The Austin winners of the Brain Trust: Pathway to InnoVAtion Hackathon held February 19-21, 2016 are The Home Team, who created an online marketplace solution connecting veterans with resources such as housing, education and networking opportunities.

AUSTIN, Texas - Feb. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- The Brain Trust: Pathway to InnoVAtion Hackathon was held in Austin, TX and San Francisco, CA, February 19-21, 2016 to develop brain heath innovations for Veterans experiencing mild TBI (mTBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Programmers, veterans, and healthcare professionals formed teams and created solutions to improve access to care for veterans faced with mTBI and PTSD, at hackathon events in Austin and San Francisco, and presented by MyVA Partnerships, the VA Center for Innovation, Booz Allen Hamilton, Vets in Tech, Capital Factory (Austin), and Galvanize (San Francisco).

An expert panel of leading VA and industry experts in mTBI and PTSD along with Veterans and caregivers judged pitch presentations from nine teams in Austin. Home, an online marketplace to match veterans with health and other critical resources was selected as the winning solution.

The Home team has been invited to showcase their innovation at the April 20-21, 2016 Brain Trust Innovation Showcase in Washington, DC.
