FRANKLIN, Mich. - Feb. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- The popular, nationally recognized “6 Steps to Better Balance Program” has announced its March 2016 schedule of courses.  Sharon Claye, President and Owner of Fall Prevention Training Services, LLC is bringing this exciting new exercise program to six locations across five states in the Eastern US.

Claye, a certified Master Trainer in this system, will be teaching a series of courses for occupational therapist & physical therapists and assistants as well as independent personal trainers, fitness instructors, activity directors, and anyone interested in helping older adults to avoid falling and improve their confidence and independence.  “Every 13 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall,” says Claye. “These accidents can be dramatically reduced through our program.  More than being just simple ‘exercises’, we teach brief targeted activates that serve more complex processes that affect the mind and body…and it’s FUN!”

Developed by Dr. Betty Perkins-Carpenter, founder and President of Senior Fitness Inc., 6 Steps to Better BalanceTM is a scientifically proven program that utilizes repetitive practice of a series of movements and activities, such as the “Chorus Line” and “Dancing with a Pillow,” to help older adults gain better balance.  It is designed to reduce the probability of falls, the fear of falling and fall-related injuries. It also increases body flexibility, leg strength and overall endurance.

Cindy F., Michigan OT says, “An excellent function-based program with multi-disciplinary appeal.”

Their courses will be held in: Lexington, KY on March 4; Atlanta, GA on March 6; Pittsburgh, PA on March 11; Philadelphia, PA on March 13; Cleveland, OH on March 18; and Baltimore, MD on March 20.  Their full schedule of courses can be found at http://FallPreventionTrainer.com/register-now/.

Completion of the eight-hour training also qualifies the student for Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for several major personal trainer certifications.
