ST. LOUIS - Jan. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Shawna Coronado is an author, columnist, blogger, photographer and media host who campaigns for social good. She is a brand ambassador with green lifestyle living, organic gardening and low-cost culinary with over 375,000+ followers on her various social media venues and a YouTube channel with over a million views. She co-hosts “The Good Green Home Show” – a radio show promoting healthy home living, regularly appears on national television, and hosts the FOX News team bi-weekly at her home garden as the FOX News Chicago “Gardening with Good Day” organic gardening expert.

Along with her green lifestyle initiatives, Shawna is concerned about promoting and teaching healthy living. She was diagnosed with severe Spinal Osteoarthritis, a breakdown of the cartilage of the joints and discs in the neck and lower back that can cause weakness and pain in the arms or legs. This diagnosis has led her to change her lifestyle, lose weight, and consume a mostly anti-inflammatory diet. She educates audiences about beneficial diet, food, and health practices through her organic living media. She dreams that this will enable more people to be active who suffer from similar conditions.

Shawna's Seminars at the Lifestyle Stage:
How to Grow 35-40 Organic Plants within a 2-Square-Foot Garden
Shawna talks about the easy way to grow vertically, using several different planting systems to do so. She will show photos of her extensive front lawn vegetable organic garden and will discuss her creative sustainable ideas for organic soil maintenance, water collection, and sustainable and artful reuse of around-the-house items as vertical wall systems. She will also give suggestions for where to deliver an overabundance of vegetables. Shawna donates more than 100 pounds of food every season to the local food pantry.

Creative Ideas for Building a Suburban Water-Saving Ornamental Edible Garden
In this seminar, Shawna shows her organic front lawn vegetable garden, vertical gardens, full shade back yard vegetable garden and container gardens. She teaches the methods she uses for having her gardens survive drought. Shawna shares ideas about living and growing with sustainable green ideas and shows attendees how to make a difference in their community by feeding the hungry with hundreds of pounds of vegetables.

The Lifestyle Stage is sponsored by St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

A rising star on the St. Louis food and wellness scene, Caryn Dugan is STLVegGirl, a plant-based (vegan) chef with a simple mission, “A Plant on Every Plate.” Caryn adopted a plant-based diet in response to tragedy; in 2008, cancer took her father at an early age and ten weeks later, tried to take her. In response to her diagnosis, she searched for an answer and found one in the growing body of literature supporting a whole food, plant-based diet to bolster our natural immune system. Adopting a vegan diet herself and beating cancer, she sought to share her knowledge to help others.

In 2011, Caryn studied in Washington, DC, under the direction of Neal Barnard MD in the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s Food For Life program, becoming a certified instructor. Bringing this knowledge home, she teaches immune boosting, plant-based cooking classes at the Cancer Support Center of St. Louis for the benefit of others who have, like her, met cancer at the door. Caryn went on to form STLVegGirl, LLC, St. Louis’s first fully plant-based entity providing cooking instruction, personal chef and catering services. She regularly appears in plant-based cooking segments on local television morning shows and teaches cooking classes at Dierbergs Markets and the Kitchen Conservatory.
