What website designs are trending in 2016?

What's hot in website design for 2016? Is your site out of date?

PORT MELBOURNE, Australia - Jan. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- To keep a website or online store fresh and up to date is now just as important in ensuring that your business is flowing and ahead in your field, as many other aspects of running a successful organisation.

Over the past few years the trend for website design is to ensure a great experience for all visitors regardless of whether the traffic comes from desktop, notebook, tablet or phone. It now goes without saying that unless your site is responsive and automatically looks perfect on all devices your site may as well be lost in the dark depths of Google. With mobile internet browsing now overtaking desktop and notebooks, if a site isn’t responsive then without warning most major search engine will penalise the search ranking. In addition to a lower ranking even regular visitors who are well known to your business and your website will soon become tired of the mobile experience as it simply won’t be up to scratch compared to the majority of sites.

Being responsive is not the only feature a new site should take into consideration. The current trend for website style is for a fluid design with the ability to scroll rather than click.  A click takes longer than a scroll and with tablets and mobile devices leading the way for most browsing the necessity for a fluid scrolling website is now as vital as ever and will continue to lead the trend in website design for 2016.

For the general look of the site, aesthetics are extremely important. The days of excess shading and 3D style buttons are completely over. As soon as Apple changed the whole look of the IOS for the iPhone and scrapped the shaded app icons, replacing them with the flat style we still see today, we knew shading was dead in the water.  In addition, sites will benefit from a reduction in heavily prominent buttons and replace them with the subtle but effective ghost buttons style that can be seen on some of the latest site designs including our very own Insider Media website which is built using our preferred CMS Squarespace.
