Follow on Google News | Double Podiums for Olson in Circuit Hero 500 Race WeekendAmerican race driver Pete Olson began the 2016 race season in stunning fashion this weekend, taking 2nd with co-driver Sunny Wong in the 2 hour Asia Formula Renault Enduro race Saturday, and the A Class Win in the Circuit Hero 500kms 3 hour endurance race on Sunday with co-drivers Bill O'Brien and Maxx Ebenal, both races driving for BAR [http://www.BlackArtsRacing.com] Formula Enduro 2 hour race - Saturday In one of his first days in the 2013 model Formula Renault 2.0 from Asia Formula Renault, Saturday morning Olson qualified at a quick 1:37.5 to put the Olson/Wong car in P3 for the start of the race on Saturday afternoon. Wong took the start and spent the first hour putting the car in P2, with a large gap behind. Due to an extended pit stop, Olson exited the pits in 3rd place to drive the second hour of the race, over 40 seconds behind the second place car. In an inspired drive, Olson drove consistently fast laps for the entire hour, finishing the race just four seconds behind the P1 car at the checkered flag to take 2nd on the podium with Sunny Wong of Hong Kong. Circuit Hero 500kms 3 hour race - Sunday Sunday afternoon, the grueling 500 kilometer, 3 hour race was held. With a record field of 45 cars, Olson teamed up with American Bill O'Brien and Canadian Maxx Ebenal in a Caterham to compete in the A Class. With Ebenal putting the car on the A Class pole and doing the first stint, O'Brien took the second stint, Olson the third, and Ebenal the fourth.
