“Demographic Vulnerability: Where Population Growth Poses the Greatest Challenges”

STAMFORD, Conn. - Jan. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series “after work” presentation by Robert J. Walker on “Demographic Vulnerability: Where Population Growth Poses the Greatest Challenges.”  This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on January 13, 2016.

“Population growth is imperiling human and economic development, putting hundreds of millions of people at great risk for hunger, poverty, and water scarcity,” said Walker.

Walker directs the Population Institute’s advocacy and public education activities, including its work on issues related to health, economic development, sustainability and the environment. Prior to joining the Population Institute in February 2009, Mr. Walker was President of the Population Resource Center. He formerly was the Executive Director of the Common Cause Education Fund, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to promote open, honest and accountable government. Mr. Walker also worked for a total of 14 years on Capitol Hill.

Mr. Walker has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, PBS, and NPR.  He has written opinion pieces for papers such as, Financial Times, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Chicago Sun-Times, Newsday, the Washington Post, and the Boston Globe.

Mr. Walker received his B.A. in Economics from Rockford College and his J.D. from the University of Illinois School of Law.  He attended the University of Sydney in Australia under a Rotary graduate fellowship.

The cost for the evening is free for AR series members, $35 for Guests of AR Members and $55 for the general public. The event will start at 5:30 P.M. with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. Presentation and Q & A will run from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Reservations and advance payment are required. Space is limited.
