Announcing the Stress Busters Workshop: Learn How Stress Impacts You and What You Can Do

SKOKIE, Ill. - Dec. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Stress is part of our lives: how we deal with it can mean the difference between health and illness.

Chef Vahé Mekhitarian of Menu For You and Sharan Tash of Tash Fitness pulled together a panel of experts in health and fitness, Chinese medicine, digestive health, meditation, and food to create a stress management workshop. The workshop is targeted at giving working women effective techniques for managing their day to day stressors. "This workshop will provide a holistic perspective on stress management focusing on nourishing the mind, body and spirit," says Mekhitarian.

During the workshop, the panel will discuss how stress impacts your mind, body and spirit, and what you can do to deal with it.  "If you want to conquer stress, conquer your mind. It is your mind, not surroundings, that creates stress in the first place," says Oksana Gritsenko, a spiritual and meditation expert who will help workshop participants learn how to manage the mind.

"We know that stress wreaks havoc on our gut, causing issues like diarrhea, acid reflux, and indigestion, which then in turn adds to our stress. I will be sharing suggestions for improving gut health," says Renée Barasch, digestive health specialist.

"As a working mother, I have stressors that many women face such as worrying about money, my kids testing boundaries, and juggling time for all of my responsibilities as the family chef, chauffeur, tutor, maid, and breadwinner. I always have my eye out for time-saving ideas and new, healthy tips for managing my stress. I am excited to share how Chinese medicine can minimize the impact of stress on your emotional or physical health." Amy Landolt, Licensed Acupuncturist.

Participants will also get a chance to experience some stress management techniques during the workshop including guided meditation with acupuncture. "I feel at ease and at peace during and after the acupuncture treatment with meditation and the results are long lasting. I've come to use acupuncture and guided meditation regularly as a tool that I can later access when I find myself in a stressful moment or situation," shares Deanna Whiteside, guided meditation with acupuncture participant.

The Stress Busters workshop is being held at Tash Fitness in Skokie, on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 10am.
