Nov. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- With Carlisle Events and Carlisle Auctions hosting the first-ever Fall Florida AutoFest at the SUN ‘n FUN complex in Lakeland, the Pennsylvania-based event producers knew that with the right formula in place, the weekend of November 12-15, 2015 could be a smashing success.  Great weather in central Florida, a car auction with over 420 consignments, swap meet, car corral and the one and only Burt Reynolds onsite made Fall Florida AutoFest a hit!

While the show ran Thursday-Sunday, Friday and Saturday were THE days to be onsite.  Not only were those the two days of the auction, it was also the two days that Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds was onsite.  Guests came from around the southeast (and then some) to meet the Bandit, while also taking time to visit vendors within the massive swap meet.  Items ranged from common to rare as guests and vendors alike were wheeling and dealing from open to close daily.

In addition to the standard aspects and Mr. Reynolds, Fall Florida AutoFest featured some fresh activities too.  Each day guests were able to enjoy a wide array of food from over a dozen vendors, motorcycle stunt shows via Josh Borne and an impressive display of motor coaches with the Air and Coach Concours, presented by Prestige Aviation and Parliament Motor Coach.  That aforementioned feature drew rave reviews from its participants with one noting that “Carlisle has pulled out all the stops for this event.”

Finally, the weekend capped with a pair of car shows, one a Cars and Coffee event presented by the duPont REGISTRY and the other a two-day show backed by Carlisle Events.  In total, hundreds of classics and exotics were showcased between the two shows.  With the sun setting Saturday, guests were offered a few final treats, including live music from the Hoyt Hughes Band and a screening of Smokey and the Bandit.  Prior to that screening, the Bandit himself hosted a Q&A for enthusiasts that stayed into the night.

Sunday wrapped the weekend with one final car show day, last minute swap meet, car corral and midway deals, plus a handful of auction cars that did not sell as part of the still for sale lot.

With the event a wrap, Carlisle Events staff breaks for the holidays, but returns in January with two events in two months, Auto Mania in Allentown, PA and a return to SUN ‘n FUN with Winter Florida AutoFest, February 25-28.  For that event, the special guest will be Dukes of Hazzard star Tom Wopat.  Complete details are available at www.CarlisleEvents.com.
