-- Dr. Matthew Bruckel’s desire to optimize every patient’s experience drove the creation of Total Access Urgent Care (TAUC®) in 2008. During his decade-long service as an Emergency Medicine Physician, he recognized the fundamental problems with the ER. Dr. Bruckel set out to pioneer the rapidly growing TAUC model, centered on fast, friendly, and high quality care. Dr. Bruckel handpicks top-notch, board certified emergency physicians who are trained to diagnose and treat any level of emergent medical presentation. This allows TAUC’s facilities to operate effectively as low-acuity emergency rooms with much lower prices.
“Being independent and physician-owned offers many advantages to Total Access and its patients,” says Dr. Bruckel. “The most impactful insights for improvement are driven by the person who does it on a daily basis,” he continues. “When you separate the operator from the owner, organizations often find the board room making decisions without a helpful understanding of operational realities. Furthermore, working clinically keeps leadership directly connected to the employees’ needs, challenges and motivations.”
As with the original six locations, TAUC provides immediate medical service to walk-in patients. Teams at TAUC offer multiple medications directly onsite, start IVs for both fluids and medications, perform EKGs, run over 30 lab tests onsite, suture lacerations, reduce dislocations, splint fractures, drain abscesses, and perform digital X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds..
TAUC strives to deliver high quality and affordable health care to the greater St. Louis community. Three hundred and sixty five days per year, walk-ins are welcome with extended hours at the Rock Hill location from 6am-10pm and standard 8am-8pm hours at the Chesterfield, Town and Country, South County, St. Louis Hills and St. Charles locations.
