Phoenix Airport Hotel Honors Military with Complimentary Lunch on Veterans Day

The Crowne Plaza Phoenix Airport Hotel Invites Active and Retired Military Personnel for An Honorable Midday Meal

PHOENIX - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- In a show of support for active and retired troops of all branches of service, the Crowne Plaza Phoenix Airport hotel invites the military to the property’s The Post restaurant for a complimentary lunch on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Located on the south west corner of Washington Street and 44th Street in Phoenix, Ariz., the hotel is the closest hotel to Sky Harbor International Airport, with the Papago Military Reservation and Papago Army Aviation Support Facility approximately 1.5 miles away.

The complimentary lunches will be served from 11am until 2pm in The Post restaurant located inside the hotel. With an interior glass wall and attractive views of the property’s pool and spa area, the restaurant is offering one free lunch per person with active military or retired veteran’s identification in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans are invited to partake of The Post’s mouthwatering lunch selections like their Jack Daniel’s Burger featuring seven ounces of Angus beef, double cheddar, house-made Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, and a giant onion ring on a corn-dusted bun, or their signature Portobello Wrap with roasted portobello mushrooms, hummus, spinach, charred red peppers and mozzarella in a wrap.

Due to its proximity to Sky Harbor International Airport, many airline employees, active and former military and their families stay at the hotel on a regular basis. Additionally, with former military and veterans on staff, and those living and working in the area, hotel management wanted to show their respect for those who give their all for the country. Hotel employee Donald Royer is former military, and is supportive of the move and the message it sends to the community.

“We wanted to do something special for all the active, retired and former military in the area,” states Food & Beverage Director Donald Royer.  “People say there’s no free lunch in this world, but when you commit to serving your country like these fine folks do -- offering them a solid square one day out of the year is the least we can do to show our unwavering respect and support.”

Additionally the hotel supports our troops by offering the standard government rate to active and former military with identification at check-in, so overnight stays are discounted regularly whether traveling for personal or business use.
