About Green City Market
Chicago’s Green City Market has been named one of America’s Top 10 Farmer’s Markets by USA Today. Located in Lincoln Park, the independent nonprofit market was founded in 1998 by the late Abby Mandel, chef, author, and entrepreneur to encourage local, sustainable agriculture. Now in its 17th year, the market has come a long way since its humble beginnings. What started as a handful of vendors in an alley next to the Chicago Theater has since grown into the best and biggest farmers market in Chicago with more than 60 vendors and 175,000 visitors per year. Green City Market operates a second outdoor market at Fulton Market. Outdoor markets close at the end of October. The Lincoln Park market moves indoors to the Peggy Notebaert Museum beginning Saturday, November 7 and running through April. Visit http://www.greencitymarket.org for additional information.
