Greywale Insights to Present at SCTE Tech EXPO in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Newburyport, MA, New Orleans, LA October 6, 2015, Greg Whelan, principal of Greywale Insights, will be presenting his paper titled “Gigabit Power: Access Architecture Impact on Energy Cost” at the SCTE Tec-Expo in New Orleans.  The session hosted by Bill Warga, VP, Technology, Liberty Global, is titled Reducing Access Network Energy Usage and will be on Thursday October 15^th at 9:30 AM.

“Energy 2020 has noted that the access network accounts for over 70% of the cable company’s energy bill,” said Greg Whelan, principal of Greywale Insights, “While the gigabit race is on, cable companies need to factor in energy issues and cost as a top tier decision parameter.”

Mr. Whelan is active in the SCTE Energy 2020 initiative and participates in a number of working groups including the Access Network Efficiency Working Group (ANE).
