WHITEHALL, Pa. - Sept. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The Health Education Specialists: A Companion Guide for Professional Excellence 7th edition, released today by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc., (NCHEC) contains revised Responsibilities, Competencies, and Sub-competencies from the latest Health Education Specialist Practice Analysis (HESPA) model.

Melissa Grim, PhD, MCHES, from Radford University and Cam Escoffery, PhD, CHES from the Rollins School of Public Health served as co-editors for the revised publication.  This book includes both entry- and advanced-level Competencies and Sub-competencies and for the first time the MCHES practice questions.  The publication will serve as a study tool for health education specialists preparing for the April 2016 MCHES and October 2016 CHES examinations.

“We were very fortunate to have the expertise of Drs. Grim and Escoffery leading this project,” said Linda Lysoby, NCHEC Executive Director. “They selected a highly skilled team of CHES and MCHES authors to produce a high quality publication to assist in exam preparation.”

Additionally, the publication can be used to assess health education knowledge. Instructors in professional preparation programs may find the format and organization of this book to be a useful supplement to textbooks and classroom lectures. Employers can encourage their employees to use this book as a tool to determine whether additional professional development in specific areas is needed.

The publication can be purchased through the NCHEC Website at www.nchec.org/publications.

NCHEC would like to extend sincere gratitude to the following editors, co-editors, contributing authors, reviewers, and copy-editors for their hard work and dedication to the publication.
