By assisting people from diverse cultures, interests, views and abilities in the development of essential communication skills, Toastmasters International performs a valuable service for its members and the community. On Tuesday, September 29th, from six o’clock to eight o’clock in the evening, current members of the Daybreakers club will host a get-together at Cal Lutheran University’s Huddle Campus in Westlake Village to commemorate its legacy to the community. Local officials and past members are invited to attend a celebration that is billed as a “joyous gathering filled with delicious memories, food, drinks and wonderful company.” Featured speakers will be two of the original members, Charles Heinrichs and John Parkham, who will share memories and anecdotes of the early years. An aerospace engineering supervisor, Heinrichs joined Toastmasters because “I was challenged by the need to make management briefings and presentations to customers.
