CAMPBELL, Calif. - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- How To Lose Weight
Is there any subject that has ever been more written about, talked about, tried and tested than how to lose weight, and yet we’re still a nation of fatties! Either we’re doing it wrong, or we’re kidding ourselves and not really doing it at all. We all know that basically in order to lose weight we need to “eat less and move more” but there are lots of other ways too in which we can actually lose weight, some of them voluntary, and some of the involuntary (some people actually struggle to put weight on).
How To Lose Weight
Medical Ways To Lose Weight:

Bariatric Surgery – weight loss surgery which is performed on obese people and works by reducing the size and capacity of the stomach in a variety of different ways
Biliopancreatic Diversion – is another form of weight loss surgery which alters the normal pattern of digestion making the stomach smaller so you feel full much quicker
Gastric Bypass – is really any surgical procedure which divides the stomach into smaller parts, reducing the size of the stomach and shortening the digestive system
Lap Band – this adjustable gastric band system helps obese patients to lose weight by limiting their food consumption
Liposuction – this cosmetic weight loss surgery removes fatty deposits – think vacuum cleaner!

Lose Weight by Medication:

Weight loss pills – there are loads of different weight loss pills on the market, all promising remarkable results but just remember, it can be dangerous to lose too much weight too quickly, and there’s a good chance you’ll pile it all back on again with interest.
Herbal supplements – there are also a wide range of herbal supplements which can help you to lose weight more naturally.
Caffeine – this is a tricky one. Some people claim that too much caffeine actually stimulates the appetite and makes you eat more – watch this space.
• Medication for other treatments can help you to lose weight as a side effect (some diabetes treatments for example).

Exercise to Lose Weight:

• Join a Gym – there are generally some great offers at New Year, but don’t pay expensive joining fees unless you’re sure that you’ll get your moneys worth.
• Hire yourself a personal trainer – well it works for Madonna and Jennifer Aniston, so if you’ve got the cash, why not?
• Take up a new sport or hobby – this way you can make friends and have fun while exercising and losing weight without even thinking about it.
• Buy a dog (and then take it for a walk) – if you’re out of the house all day and live on the fourth floor, why not offer to walk a neighbors dog?
• Find an exercise buddy – there’s nothing like a little support to keep you on the right lines, with an exercise buddy you can encourage each other if the going gets tough.

Join a Weight Loss or Portion Control Program

Herbalife – offer a range of science based products to help weight management.
Jenny Craig – has weight loss tips and a weight loss program, as well as some tips on how to lighten up your recipes.
Nutrisystem – have a weight loss program with a range of almost 120 different delicious foods to help.
Slimming World – who hasn’t heard of Slimming World. Joining one of these friendly groups can really help you to lose weight.
Weight Watchers – have been helping generations of people to lose weight for more than 40 years.

Weight Loss Related Diseases:

Anorexia Nervosa – or slimmers disease is more common in teenage girls, but other age groups and men can suffer from it too.
Bulimia Nervosa – is a dangerous cycle of binging, purging, followed by not eating.

Illness Induced Weight Loss:

AIDS – losing weight is a very common problem for AIDs and HIV sufferers.
Cancer – this very much depends on where the cancer is in your body, but very often weight loss is a side effect of cancer, and some of the drugs do act as appetite suppressants which doesn’t help.
Cardiac disease – obesity and being overweight can really increase your chances of suffering from cardiac disease, and losing weight can significantly reduce the risk to your heart. Unexpected weight loss can be a symptom of cardiac disease.
Gastrointestinal disorders – this digestive disorders interfere with the digestive system and often cause sickness and diarrhoea – weight loss is inevitable as a result.
Infection – some infectious diseases do cause loss of weight.
Neurologic disease – these brain disorders can also result in severe loss of weight.
Renal disease – kidney diseases are sometimes accompanied by a loss of appetite, but it’s important to try and reduce weight loss wherever possible.
Starvation – is a state of extreme hunger due to lack of essential nutrients for a sustained period of time.

Other Ways To Lose Weight

• Change your lifestyle – we’ve touched on this already.
• Change your eating habits – by adjusting your favorite recipes to include more low fat alternatives or just eating your main meal earlier in the day, you can drop a few pounds without even noticing.
• Amputate a limb!! – I wasn’t being serious about that one . . .
• Color therapy – blue is an appetite depressant so why not buy a blue table cloth and crockery, that should put you off your food a bit.
• Eat more often (but smaller portions) – your body will react favorably to being fed little and often – so graze.
• Drink water before eating – if you do this you won’t feel so hungry and will eat smaller portions – no, really!
