| What is the Difference Between Vegan and Vegetarian? The basic differences are fundamentally the same, but completely different in terms of details.
By: mediterraneandietlife.com Both vegans and vegetarians avoid the consumption of meat, but vegans are more extreme, in that they avoid all types of animal products. Vegans restrict themselves from using or consuming any and all animal products, while vegetarians focus primarily on the avoidance of eating animal products or byproducts. A vegetarian may eliminate all meats, poultry, fish, shellfish and even cheese made from animal products. Vegetarians may still consume eggs and milk, but some choose to avoid those foods as well. A vegan, not only eliminates the animal products from their food, they avoid using these products as well. Vegans avoid using beauty products that contain animal ingredients or indicate that they were tested on animals in any capacity. Vegans typically do not wear clothing that was made from animals, which includes wool, fur or leather. They are extremely strict in how they value animals and do not condone the exploitation of animals through their lifestyle. Many vegetarians take their beliefs further in the protection of animals once they have lived their life as a vegetarian for a short time. Most vegans start out as vegetarians and then move toward adapting a lifestyle of a true vegan. Both see their beliefs as a lifestyle not simply a choice. A vegan, especially, acknowledges the protection of animals and is true to their belief in curbing their lifestyle to promote the rights of animals. for more information visite : http://mediterraneandietlife.com End
