NEW YORK - Aug. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- NabbTix is launching the first event ticketing auction service that will allow users to bid and view auction results in real-time as the auction progresses.

The auction, which will open for bidding on August 31st, is for five fan packages to the Aer & Cody Simpson concert at the Best Buy Theater in New York City on September 18th. In addition to tickets to the show, the ticket packages will also include a signed guitar by both Aer and Cody Simpson, a meet and greet with the artists, an item from each artist’s merchandise store, a VIP Laminate for the show, and a digital download of Aer’s newly released One of a Kind album.

NabbTix’s unique auction corrects the problems with the obsolete ticketing systems employed today. Many of today’s ticket services force fans to wait by their computers in “digital lines” for the moment tickets go on sale, often locking them out of high profile shows before they even are offered the chance to purchase a ticket. NabbTix provides fans with a long bidding period, during which fans can log on and place a bid at their convenience.

Fans interested in bidding will be able to do so at during the week of August 31 – September 6. Users will be able to create an account, place a bid, and view the auction in real-time as it progresses. If at any time a user would like to increase or modify their bid, they can do so easily via the website.

“We spent a lot of time focusing on making NabbTix as intuitive and user-friendly as possible,” said Alec Truitt, NabbTix’s Chief Operating Officer. “We’re introducing a new buying system to the public, so we needed to make sure that NabbTix was both easy to understand and simple to operate. Through our unique design and heavy user-testing, I believe we have accomplished both of these goals.”

All proceeds from the Aer and Cody Simpson auction will benefit Riverkeeper, a non-profit organization that focuses on keeping New York’s waterways clean. “We’re extremely excited to debut this new system by raising money for a great cause,” said Max Gredinger, Aer’s manager. “Aer has always taken an interest in environmental issues, and saw NabbTix as a great tool to help raise funding and awareness for Riverkeeper.” Though NabbTix can be used for both for-profit and non-profit events, the concept originally came from the aftermath of New York City’s 12-12-12 Benefit Concert, the proceeds of which benefitted Hurricane Sandy victims.

“We looked at the aftermath of that concert and saw a huge amount of public outrage regarding secondary ticket sales and ticket scalpers profiting from what was a benefit concert,” said Danny Annibale, NabbTix’s Chief Business Officer. “What we realized is that the secondary market proved that a huge demand for those tickets existed, but the event producers were not able to capitalize on it. With NabbTix’s unique auction system, we can make sure event producers receive the full market value for their tickets, and disincentivize the secondary ticket market in the process.”

NabbTix LLC is based in Ossining, New York, and was founded in 2014. NabbTix provides unique ticket auctions for live events including concerts, comedy, and sporting events.
