Kobina Wright’s Art Show, STATIC!, To Take Place in Santa Ana in SeptemberKobina Wright has announced a venue and a date for her much advertised and highly anticipated art show, STATIC!
By: Selah Haki Wright’s abstract work was initially inspired by the death and FBI cover-up of Fred Hampton, however, Wright’s work from the STATIC! series has broadened, encompassing the issue and fight against, police brutality, rogue government actions and the abuse of authority. Wright is an American writer, artist, actress and language creator. She is known primarily for her poetry and abstract art, which is constantly evolving. Wright is the creator of the Hodaoa-Anibo language which she began to develop in 2003 and published “The Hodaoa-Anibo Dictionary.” Wright has also been published in several literary magazines including, Torrid Literature Journal, Blackberry and SNReview. She has published the second edition of the “Abridged Hodaoa-Anibo Dictionary” and last year, spoke at the X13 Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. Wright's works of art have been exhibited around the world including: Paramaribo, Suriname − De Hal Multipurpose Room 2014; Piran, Slovenia − The Cultural & Artistic Association 2014; Wellington, New Zealand − Fringe Festival 2014; Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Amsterdam Outsider Gallery 2013; Boyertown, Pennsylvania - Studio B 2013; Liverdun, France - Chateau Corbin 2012; Chiang Mai, Thailand - Sangdee Gallery 2012.
