Aug. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Mafi Mushkila, a leading provider of data centre services, has announced that it has selected  Extech Instruments to supply its TH10 USB temperature monitoring device for use during Integrated Systems Tests (IST). This latest development is a result of increased demand from Mafi Mushkila’s growing global customer base for a temperature monitoring device that will complement its highly successful heat load and server emulators.

One of the most widely used tools of its kind, the Extech TH10 combines ease of use with state-of-the-art hands-off temperature analysis. Simple to set up thanks to supplied Windows compatible analysis software, it is capable of recording 32,000 temperature recordings, with a user programmable sample rate ranging from two seconds to 24 hours. Defined high and low temperature thresholds can be applied, and flashing LEDs are incorporated to provide a warning if set parameters are breached.

Mafi Mushkila has enjoyed a highly successful working relationship with Extech’s parent company Flir over a number of years and uses the company’s thermal imaging cameras extensively during its activities. Packing a huge punch for its size, the TH10 measures just 130x30x25mm and weighs 20g. Furthermore, the use of a 3.6V lithium battery ensures a long life of approximately one year.

Integrated systems testing verifies the functionality of power and cooling systems and equipment; providing a high level of quality assurance and confidence in how the datacentre or computer room will operate in the years to come. Mafi Mushkila’s technology and expertise allows a data centre to be tested under design load conditions and commissioned for optimum efficiency before going live. Validating performance under normal power and during emergency power conditions proves that a facility provides the level of resilience and redundancy stated by the designer and has the ability to cope with system failures.

Mafi Mushkila has already dispatched the first consignment of Extech TH10 temperature monitoring devices, alongside its floor standing heat load units, for use in a major new data centre project. The company is also working on a comprehensive high-end temperature analysis solution in conjunction with RF Code, with more details expected soon.

‘Temperature monitoring is an important part of the integrated systems testing process, and the accuracy and reliability of any collected data is vital,’ commented Dave Wolfenden, managing director of Mafi Mushkila. ‘Having assessed the various devices currently available, we felt that the Extech TH10 ticked all these boxes and is also compact, easy to use and robust. I’m delighted that we have been able to further our relationship with Extech, something that will have massive benefits for our customers around the world.’
