NEW YORK - Aug. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Three individuals who formerly worked as carpenters for a construction company known as Megalopoli, LLC, have filed a lawsuit in Kings County Supreme Court alleging that their employer failed to pay them prevailing wages and supplemental benefits as required by law. They allege that their employer secured work at such locations as Queens Museum, a United States Post Office and Fort Dix Army Base in Burlington County, NJ. As part of said contracts, the suit alleges, the employer was required to pay its carpenters prevailing wages, which are significantly higher than what they were paid, plus supplemental benefits. However, the employer only paid the carpenters $25/hour by check or in cash.

The lawsuit seeks to have the employer pay the former carpenters the sum which represents the difference between the amount the carpenters were paid and the amount that they were entitled to be paid at prevailing wage, plus supplemental benefits, liquidated damages, statutory attorneys fees, disbursements, costs and interest. The suit further alleges that the employer failed to provide proper wage notices and accurate wage statements in violation of the New York Labor Law, and seeks damages accordingly.

Michael Redenburg represents the workers and along with co-counsel, has recovered hundreds of thousands of dolllars for hard working people who are denied overtime pay and proper wages.
