| ![]() Learn all about Chinese food and cultureEurasia Consult’s blog on Chinese food and culture pronounced mature
By: Eurasia Consult Eurasia’s founder, Peter Peverelli, is passionate about many things, but the top three are: China, food and organization theory. Peter started learning Chinese when he was 14. He was one of the first Western students allowed to enter China in 1975 to study there for a year. Read more about that in his diary of year. He has a PhD Lit. (Leiden University; 1986) and a PhD in Business Administration (Rotterdam University; 2000). Peter has a part-time affiliation with the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration of VU University Amsterdam, where he set up the VU China Research Centre. From the day Peter joined the Gist-brocades (now part of DSM) in 1985, he picked up an interest in food, not just the final product, but also how it is produced, with an emphasis on ingredients and formulation. Combining that interest with his China passion, he became an avid student of the cultural and societal function of food. In this blog, Eurasia Consult hope to blend all those ingredients into a savoury soup about China, the Chinese food industry and how the organization of that industry differs from the West. End
