Rotaract Club of Heritage Institute of Technology wins the Best Club Award of Rotaract District 3291

KOLKATA, India - July 2, 2015 - PRLog -- It was a proud moment for Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata when the students of the Roatarct Club of Heritage Institute received the Best Club Award in the Rotaract District out of 30 clubs on 28th June 2015 in the District Award Ceremony.

Rotaract Club of Heritage Institute won 16 awardsfor the term 2014-2015 in the District Award ceremony helon 28th June. Since 2009the club has maintained the recordofwinning the Best Club awardand this timeit was no different from the previous years. The list of Awards received this year for term 2014-15 as follows:

2. Best President in Rotaract District 3291- Ramyani Mukherjee, B.tech student of Heritage Institute
3. Best Secretary in Rotaract District 3291- Swarnadeep Biswas, B.tech student of Heritage Institute
4. Best Club in community service
5. Best Project- Joga Bonito-a project organized for the sex workers of Sonagachi which included a friendly football match
6. Best R-Idea of the year- Liter of Light- a project which included provding light in the slums of Kolkata through recycled water bottles in the form of Refraction through sunlight
7. Best International Service Project- The Great Raffle for Nepal Earthquake victims
8. Best Professional Development Project- Outliers
9. Best Special Area Project- Project Teach
10. Best Club in Basic Education and Literacy
11. Best club that has complied to DRR's thrust areas (a total of 26 thrust area projects)

The students also received a great support and motivation from Shri Probir Roy, Exectuive Director,  Prof. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute, Dr. Sobhen Ray, Registrar, Heritage Institute, Mr. Arvind Srivastava, Deputy Registrar and Teacher-in-charge, Rotaract Club, Heritage Institute, Mr. Clayton Moses, Academic Advisor, Heritage Institute and other faculty members and staff  in organizing these projects.
