NEW YORK - June 23, 2015 - PRLog -- weCliq, operated by Groupies Inc., announces a new exciting iPhone app; allowing people to connect with others in their area, looking for spontaneous fun through the snap of a Selfie or Groupie (group-selfie). weCliq is a free mobile application set to launch in July, 2015 on iOS, and Android later. Initial Beta users say the app is a more authentic version of Tinder through the use of live-capture photos instead of stock photos pulled from your Facebook account.

weCliq demonstrates mobile solutions and capabilities in cutting-edge technology that originated from personal experiences from Brown University alumni pals; Robert Gillett and Marc Howland. "Marc and I searched for an effective way to connect with other people who were looking to hang out in real-time. I am passionate about building a disruptive product that will significantly penetrate the market through organic growth," says Gillett. weCliq is sponsoring a VIP pre-Independence Day cruise around NYC on Friday, July 3rd. Selfies and Groupies from users will be posted on social media throughout the evening as a teaser for the official launch party in NYC that is scheduled for a later date that month. Be sure to check out weCliq's social media challenge for a chance to score VIP access to the official launch party, just by uploading a Selfie or Groupie to @WeCliqApp.

weCliq won first place with its innovative app at Startup Weekend Orange County, CA in November 2014. Since, the team has been firing on all cylinders to get the app to the market." After much research and development, we are proud to release our app to the public and facilitate impromptu meetups" said Gillett." weCliq will be contributing to the social scene in a big way. It's the solution that everyone is looking for to meet with fun people for real-time hangouts."

About weCliq: weCliq, a social networking app based on real-time selfies and groupies (group-selfies). The app provides a platform that encourages spontaneous meetups through the use of live-capture photos that are removed from the feed every 24-hours. The app's integrated group chat function encourages matched groups to interact, with the goal of meeting up instantly. The company's app aims to redefine the social networking space by encouraging impromptu social interactions.

About Robert Gillett and Marc Howland: Gillett and Howland are young leading innovators in the tech space; combining industry knowledge with cutting edge experience and design, to help users harness the benefits of mobile social empowerment. After returning from playing professional football in Italy, Robert Gillett taught a course at Brown University on tech-entrepreneurship, in which students were hands-on in learning how to turn a great idea into an even better company by working side-by-side with the weCliq team. He also worked side-by-side with MIT Sloan School of Management where MBA candidates worked on problems of strategic importance to the weCliq App. Marc Howland moved on from Brown work as an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs, where he became passionate about creating value by capitalizing on technology disruption. He later joined The Carlyle Group where he currently specializes on investing in and growing leading global technology, media and telecom companies.
