Follow on Google News | ALLSCAN Trading Acquires Majority Share of Imagecare Technical Services - June 2015AllScan is committed to being the "First Choice Supplier" for our product range through service excellence, experience and product knowledge. Our emphasis is on being a responsible, innovative business partner providing value-added services.
By: AllScan Trading (Pty) Ltd Allscan Trading was established in 2008 by Chris and Eldaline Botha and has grown to one of the biggest scanner distributors in Africa with the support of the leading name brands in the industry. Allscan Trading distributes Kodak, Xerox, Canon and Brother Scanners to the South African and African market. “This acquisition made sense for us to do” says Chris Botha MD of Allscan Trading “in the past we had to depend on external partners to support the scanners that were sold via our channel partners, and we were not in the position to ensure quality. This acquisition puts us in the position to offer customers an end to end solution. The impact on the current Imagecare Technical Services will also be positive as they will be able to get support directly from the distributor of the scanners which can offer significant price benefits for future contracts. Imagecare is in the process of becoming the ASP for one of the other well supported brands in South Africa, but the details have not been finalized. Thankfully we are in the position to guarantee the availability of parts for every scanner that needs to be supported and maintained.” The news was also well received by Allscan’s suppliers. “I look forward to working with the largest single Imaging supplier in South Africa.” Says David Whitton – Sales Director for Kodak Alaris. “Kodak Alaris supports the acquisition by Allscan of Imagecare 100%. It’s reassuring to be able to work with such a strong Value Added partner as Allscan – I never believed broadline distribution is right for the South African market and this union will prove the point once again. Kodak Alaris has seen strong growth from Allscan over the years – the acquisition of Imagecare’s support services will take this to the next level” he concludes. Munna Desai, Brother Sales Manager for Southern Africa agrees with the Kodak’s positive sentiments by commenting “Brother International SA views this acquirement as a giant step in the right direction. Their distribution model across their product offering is strategized behind having one point of recourse, covering every aspect of complete representation. This incorporates distribution, training, service and support from a single source. We see this as a “best fit” in ensuring that users have a pleasant out of box experience. The technical skills provided by the Imagecare team compliments the solutions supplied by the AllScan team. The vision of improved communication and service is well supported by both teams of matured Imaging Solution focused organizations. This acquisition portrays a progressive future for both companies and will be extremely beneficial to their reseller partners.” "Having a long-standing partnership with Allscan, Canon can testify to their service excellence and outstanding customer value offerings.” says Dave Flemmer, Business Development Manager Canon South Africa. “We have no doubt that this acquisition will add even further benefit for their many loyal clients who will reap the convenience of one point of call for product, training and service. We are proud to be associated with Allscan and their unrivalled reputation in the production scanning industry. We feel confident that this good news will definitely be welcomed by all their partners and clearly demonstrate their commitment to value-added resellers in the region,” Flemming concludes. “Our plans for Imagecare Technical Services is to make a big player even bigger and to create a powerhouse that will benefit the industry” says Botha “I want to personally assure the current Imagecare customers that the only changes they will see, will be improvements and that their input will always be welcomed.” For more information visit: http://www.allscan.co.za End
