The INS Group Provides Pro Bono Capacity-Building Services to Band Together

Nonprofit Consulting Firm Founder Ruth Peebles Joins the 2015 Activate Good Pro Heroes Program as “The Innovative Solutioner”

RALEIGH, N.C. - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- The INS Group President and Founder Ruth Peebles has been invited to join the volunteer center Activate Good as this year’s Pro Heroes “Innovative Solutioner,” helping to use her expertise to secure funding for Raleigh-based Band Together.

Band Together (http://www.bandtogethernc.org/) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses live music as a platform for social change. Each year, Band Together partners with a charity with the potential to reach a major milestone with funding support. The vision for Band Together began 14 years ago, as a response to the tragedies of September 11. More than a decade later, Band Together has risen to be a powerful partner to nonprofits throughout the Triangle area. The organization has raised more than $3.5 million to benefit 16 organizations – Disaster Relief, Special Olympics, Operation Smile, Music Maker’s Relief, Stop Hunger Now, Food Bank of Eastern NC, Boys and Girls Club of Wake County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, SAFEchild, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, StepUP Ministry, Alliance Medical Ministry, Urban Ministries of Wake County, Tammy Lynn Center, and Communities In Schools of Durham and Communities In Schools of Wake County.

“I first learned about Band Together’s innovative mission to support nonprofits and the Triangle community while I was serving as Development Director of Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina,” says Ms. Peebles. “I am amazed how far they have come as an organization and the impact they have made since their inception.”

In order to sustain its mission for the long term, Band Together needs to secure funding resources and partnered with Activate Good to connect with a professional willing to volunteer fundraising expertise. That’s when Activate Good turned to The INS Group’s Ms. Peebles, known as “The Innovative Solutioner,” who brings a unique, innovative approach to fundraising and capacity building for nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and faith-based institutions nationwide.

The INS Group will provide a comprehensive grant proposal template and create a strategy for cultivating new relationships with private and corporate foundations both locally and nationally. The firm’s goal is to provide innovative approaches to secure unrestricted funds to help Band Together increase its community impact.

With more than 26 years of hands-on experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, organizational development, and project management, Ms. Peebles is a perfect match for Band Together – and Executive Director Matt Strickland welcomes her skills. “I have been so impressed by the ease and professionalism of our Pro Hero Ruth!” he said. “Being an Executive Director of a small, yet growing nonprofit, it means the world to have true experts like Ruth to come in and help advance the organization forward. I am so thankful for Ruth and for Activate Good setting this whole project into motion!”

Founded in 2005, Activate Good is a nonprofit volunteer center in Raleigh, NC, that connects individuals, groups, and companies to volunteer with 280 nonprofits in the Triangle region. These nonprofits rely on volunteer time and talents to operate, and skilled professionals can make an impact in a big way.
