Kent State’s College of Business Administration Recognizes Students and Faculty for Excellence

KENT, Ohio - April 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Kent State University’s College of Business Administration hosted the Scholastic Excellence Celebration on April 18, 2015 at the Kent State Student Center. The college recognized faculty, Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) inductees and student scholarship and leadership awards.

The following staff and faculty were recognized at the celebration:

·         Louise Ditchey: Staff Service Excellence Award

·         Arno Forst, Ph.D.: Paul L. Pfeiffer Professional and Creative Teaching Award, Full-time

·         Geoffrey Hill: Paul L. Pfeiffer Professional and Creative Teaching Award, Part-time

·         Benjamin Hoffman, Ph.D.: Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year

·         C. Lockwood Reynolds, Ph.D.: Distinguished Research Award

·         Shawn Rohlin, Ph.D.: Distinguished Research Award

·         Kathryn Wilson, Ph.D.: Faculty Service Excellence Award

·         Craig Zamary: College of Business Administration Teaching Award

Along with faculty and staff recognition, BGS inducted more than 150 students including 25 sophomores, 53 juniors, 53 seniors, 8 graduate students and 15 doctoral candidates. This is the first year sophomores have been inducted. Kent State’s BGS chapter reported a 71 percent increase in inductees, when excluding the new admitted sophomores, the increase is 43 percent.

More than 70 undergraduate students received scholarships based on academics and leadership, equaling more than $128,000.

Four graduate students were recognized for achievements as well:

·         Chad Frutig: Outstanding MBA Student, Full-time Program

·         Derek J. Stegall: Outstanding MBA Student, Part-time Program

·         Emmanuel Azange Yimfor: Outstanding MA Economics Student

·         Hallie S. D’Agostino: Outstanding MS Accounting Student

The College of Business Administration annually recognizes the achievements of students, faculty and staff at the annual Scholastic Excellence Celebration at the end of each academic year.
