If you are thinking of learning to swim, its never to late to learn. Swim Classes in NYC are offered by a specialized swim school in New York City with revolving enrollment, year 'round
NEW YORK - April 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Summer of 2015 is right around the corner.Summer is a time of year where we spend more time outdoors. Enjoying the beach is a part of sumer actvities that make that part of the year sublime. Not being able to swim as an adult is not a topic discussed among adults that can not swim. The news for non swimmers is believe it or not more than 64% of the adult popultion in the United States alone, has a fear of water in one aspect or another, and can not swim, according to studies done by the CDC, Center for Disease Control. So we wanted to do something with our lives that had instrinsic value for people. The goal was to give back in a meaningful way so Aquaskills Swim School first established in 2002 with Lori Pailet and an man named Adrian Ginju in New York City. Adrian Ginju, a Romanian was a professional swimmer as a child, an Olympic contender and a winner of Gold across Europe before he was in his late teens. As the school launched their programs the summer of 2002 the owners attracted a host of adults that never had a chance to learn swimming as children and then the school became focused on adults that had a fear of water. The numbers of non swimming adults were staggering. The response was immediate. The crisis in society to not address adults to acquire Aquaskills (Water Skills) was absolutely obvious. With great passion for teaching both instructors never stopped for one day after the start of the program and can still hardly keep up with the demand for their educational services. If you or someone that you know has not had the opportunity to learn to swim we can help you. People come to us that have been traumatized in their past, and developed a phobia to water sports. These people are people that dodged events that would bring them to water experiences from going to the beach, sailing, and company events that are held at hotels with pools. We want you to know that taking Aquaskills is an investment for a lifetime skill. Aquaskills is not something you will loose but a sport you will retain once you learn it for the rest of your life. Studies by the CDC, the Center for Disease Control show that aproximatelt there are 10 unintentional drowing events per day in the United States alone. This cause of death starts from infancy to adults of any age. In the western hemisphere learning to swim has been the rites of passage for many children. Parents have learning to swim on their list of activites for their children as a moral code. In many countries where the infrastructure in plumbing and water is weak, the last thing people are thinking about is swimming lessons. With globalization in the world we live in today we are in a society of people transplanted from all over the world to live in the USA for work or to live in the free world. As much as people complain about the States, the standard of living in the 20th Century has been very high compared to many other places in this world. The adult focused swim center in lower Manhattan also invites children to come and learn with us. Other programs in the City may work for some but we have discussed with parents and it seems to be in their opionion that the swim schools in NYC are not teaching enough skills, and do not even have concern for a child's form or body alignment while taking swim classes. Learning a new skill that requires your entire body to be used, such as swimming can be overwhelming to some. When swimming people use all of their muscle groups at once, and once the breathing is added to the freestyle, the breasstroke or whatever stroke we are teaching most people find the coordination impossible. We have methods of teaching, layering the different elements in a thoughtful way so the ensemble of movements are able to be understood and absorbed in the mind. Repeating the movements to the extent where people do it automatically is called the "muscle memory".Muscle memory has been used synonymously with motor learning, which is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memorythrough repetition.
