Q Software to Showcase the First Mobile Security App for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne at COLLABORATE 15

DENVER - April 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Q Software Global, an Oracle Gold Partner and provider of security management and compliance solutions for JD Edwards users, will showcase their new Profile Manager Mobile app at COLLABORATE 15, a Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from April 12-16.

“Last Autumn we introduced Profile Manager, which allows IT teams to delegate some of the workload of processing and approving users’ requests for Role Assignments whilst keeping control of the final assignments,” says Mike Ward, Vice President of Q Software. “Now we’re exploiting the excellent mobile integration facilities in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to extend functionality to mobile platforms, so that staff who are out of the office can submit or approve Role Assignment requests without needing a JD Edwards login.”

Fully integrated within JD Edwards, Profile Manager organizes the tasks into distinct processes, so that responsibilities can be shared between business and technical users as appropriate to individual companies’ working practices and needs. A workflow enables nominated users to request Role assignments on behalf of themselves or their staff. Requests are then routed to appropriate Approvers to decide whether or not the access should be granted, then approved requests are routed to an Assigner, who can optionally run Segregation of Duties checks before implementing the assignment in the live system. Notifications are issued automatically at all stages, and a full audit trail of all activity is maintained.

Benefits include:
·         Profile Manager reduces the workload on skilled IT technical staff whilst ensuring that they maintain control of the actual implementation of the assignments.
·         Business managers are empowered to take responsibility for approving assignments within their own departments.
·         Where required, proactive Segregation of Duties checks can be performed before assignments are implemented, to avoid the risk of violations being introduced into the live system.
·         The system maintains a complete audit trail, as all activity is logged within the JD Edwards environment.

With the Profile Manager Mobile app, without needing to login to JD Edwards, managers on the move can quickly review and process any approval requests that are awaiting their attention, or submit new access requests, depending on the responsibilities that have been assigned to them.
