Topcard, Inc. To Launch New Content Re-Engagement App

Bellevue, WA Start-up Founded by Ex-Vulcan Ventures Exec Aims to Help Content Companies Bridge the Gap Between Web and Mobile Content
 
SEATTLE - March 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Content companies and publishers spend years amassing large libraries of valuable content—but, unfortunately, a large portion of that content is never seen. That’s the problem that Topcard, Inc. founder and CEO Tom Van Horn hopes to solve with a new app that makes content re-engagement fast and fun.

“There’s so much content out there,” said Van Horn. “It’s all too easy to get overwhelmed.”

In the spring of 2014, Van Horn launched a stealth project with a team of experienced Internet marketers, big data experts, and a nimble engineering team. They are about to launch their flagship app: Topcard—which makes interacting with visual content on mobile devices both fun and rewarding. The app, which is currently in private beta, has been described as “Tinder for Business”—a reference to the massively popular dating app which allows users to rate potential mates with a swipe of a photo.

The Topcard app is expected to launch for iOS in mid-April.

Topcard helps companies leverage their existing content to re-engage existing customers and attract new customers. The company was founded by CEO Tom Van Horn, a serial entrepreneur and senior executive with Paul Allen’s Vulcan Ventures, McKinsey, and Attachmate, and who was the founder and CEO of Mercata, a Vulcan-backed e-commerce company which pioneered group buying and social shopping in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
