Cherished follows the mindset of Gina, an abused woman with emotional issues from her past and her introduction into the BDSM lifestyle.  Luca is a mental health professional but in his private life enjoys relationships that focus on bondage, submission, and training those interested in discovering their sexuality.  The couple walk through many trials as they uncover her past and he leads her down a path of healing in a non-traditional way.  Physical and emotional boundaries are tried and tested as Luca teaches her to let go of her pain.

BDSM, until recently, was a cloistered secret seen by mental health as perversion until 1994 when marginal changes were accepted into the DSM (copyrighted Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).  Other changes occurred in 2013 declassifying kinky sex as a mental disorder.  With the recent publicity of this alternative lifestyle, opinions vary and Cherished is another form to consider in the relationship of people interested in pursuing their education.
