The celebration, which opened on Monday, March 16, 2015, will showcase artworks from elementary school artists at Peachtree Center Mall located in Atlanta at 231 Peachtree St NE, 30303. The Artwork will be on display until March 31, 2015. Drawchange founder, Jennie Lobato, expressed her excitement over the joint project with the mall, “The art show was the pinnacle of our successful programs,” she states. “The circle is now complete for every child that was in attendance. They were empowered beyond measure as they saw everything that was done simply to honor them and their artwork. Success!,” Peachtree Center Mall will display the children’s artworks throughout the Guest Services area of the mall, so shoppers and visitors can enjoy and reflect on the importance of art in children’s lives. Guests invited to the opening celebration also shared their immediate excitement to the founder, “There was a profound sense of accomplishment and passion seen in the eyes of each of the children. They clearly felt loved. They obviously felt important.” shared William Massey. While another guest and volunteer added, “So many creative pieces of art and smiling faces all around from the children, the moms, the volunteers and random passerby in the mall admiring their artwork,” said Brian Lee. “The children couldn’t have been more proud and excited to see their artwork displayed for all of downtown Atlanta to see.” About drawchange Drawchange is a local 501c3 organization that brings empowering art experiences to children in local homeless shelters. 100% of the proceeds raised will stay within our community to help impoverished children realize a break to their cycle of poverty.
