March 24, 2015 - Northern Manhattan's UP Theater Company announces details of its next production, Epic Poetry by James Bosley, author of UP's previous hit Broad Channel. EPIC POETRY depicts the odyssey of a teenage girl who journeys through a befouled and dangerous landscape in search of her father, a lost hero from a legendary war. Employing the tropes of a classic myth set in a dystopian New York Metropolitan area. The tale redefines the hero's journey and questions whether, gender-wise we may have gotten it wrong from the start. EPIC POETRYis directed by Gregory Wolfe. The cast consists of Elizabeth A Bell*, Bill Christ*, Connie Castanzo*, Laura Fois*, Sarah Kiefer*, Max Lebow, Jason B. Lucas, Lue McWilliams*, Carlos Molina*, Rik Walter* and Noah Witke*. The crew includes: Set Design by Duane Pagano, Costume Design by Kimberley Windbiel, Lighting Design by Yuki Nakase, the Stage Manager is Whitney Dearden, the producer is Rik Walter, and the Graphic Designer is Mary Ann Wincorkowski. The play opens April 29th and runs through May 16th. Show times are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 pm.
