New Forensic Investigation Tool (FIT) by Decision Group

TAIPEI, Taiwan - March 16, 2015 - PRLog -- As more and more network resource abusing impacts corporate IT security, a lightweight network forensic tool is gradually in high demand for sorting out such abuse incidents. When you use it for content reconstruction application, it can recognized more than 90 popular online services, such as Instant Message (such as Hangouts, LINE, Fetion, liwangwang, FireChat, WiFi Talkie, Serval Mesh…etc.), social media (such as Facebook, twitter, plurk, Sina, Sohu, tencent, 163, Kaixin, Renren, Q Space, Linkedin, Odnoklassniki, VK, My World…etc.), file transmission (Dropbox, FTP, Evernote, CIFS, P2P…etc.), SQL commands and telnet…etc. Of course, all traffic with web pages of blogs, portal services, news room…etc. and email (POP3, SMTP IMAP, and popular webmails) can be reconstructed back to original content format.

FIT also comes with a simple link analysis tool, which can be used to check out the relationship on the IP and device (MAC) pair, IP and different account ID pair, communication frequency among targets…etc. it is quite useful for auditor and IT security staff to analyze short-term the intercepted network data for potential IT security risk.

Based on the available functionality and convenient deployment, FIT is a perfect application for teachers in the network management and forensic training class, especially for observation on running network packets and test on network configuration tuning.  With FIT, students can practice what they learn in the lecture in the target network infrastructure, and fully understand how the entire network system works in the lab.
