The new community site will be curated by Microsoft MVP and Women in SharePoint founder, Cathy Dew (http://www.itunity.com/users/cathy-dew) and IT Unity CMO and Content Panda Co-Founder, Heather Newman (http://www.itunity.com/users/heather-newman).  At launch, IT Unity will feature articles by Microsoft MVPs Michelle Caldwell, Sue Hanley, Jennifer Ann Mason, Agnes Molnar, and Microsoft Premier Field Engineer, Lori Gowin.

“The goals of the IT Unity Women in Technology community site are twofold. We want to provide a place for the women in our community to empower and energize each other by authoring content by and for women, and provide resources and access to the leaders of our technology community,” said Heather Newman, CMO, IT Unity. “We will also provide leadership development, networking opportunities, educational guidance and later in the year, forums and opportunities for mentorship.”

The Women in Technology community site launches alongside IT Unity’s SharePoint and Development Community sites. Later this year, additional sites will come online including PowerShell, business users, devices & services, and videos.

“I am thrilled to join our efforts building our Women in SharePoint community over the past few years with this new IT Unity Women in Technology community site,” said Cathy Dew, founder of Women in SharePoint. “By expanding into a broader scope, we hope to encompass all levels of women in technology from the millennial to the industry veteran and those who work in the Microsoft and Open Source communities.”

In conjunction with the launch of the IT Unity WIT community site, IT Unity is partnering with Combined Knowledge to host a Women in Technology attendee luncheon and panel discussion during The SharePoint Evolutions Conference (http://www.sharepointevolutionconference.com/) on Wednesday April 22 at 13:00, where Cathy Dew will moderate.

An IT Unity Women in Technology webinar series will launch in April and will feature two sessions per month – one will feature a WIT interview hosted by Cathy Dew & Heather Newman, the other will be guest speaker educational session regarding career development.
