EEW Magazine Issue Featuring Christian Rapper Json Sets New January Record

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Jan. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- EEW Magazine is beginning 2015 on a high note. According to the executive team, the current issue has the highest response rate of any January issue within the past two years.

The digital cover features Stellar Award-nominated Christian rapper Jason “Json” Watson, who tells the story of his wife Lawanda’s rape at age nine by her father.

“His testimony of how he and his wife dealt with the aftermath of her sexual abuse needed to be told to minister to others,” said Dianna Hobbs, the award-winning web publisher. “I wanted to expose it to EEW’s broad base of readers and I’m so glad I did.”

Tackling the subject of sexual abuse, according to Hobbs’ team, was a bit heavy and out of the ordinary for the beginning of the year.

“Our team sat her down and talked through other ideas and options,” said Amy Bertinelli, longtime publicist. “But she had her mind made up and said she felt God leading her to go in a different direction.”

Hobbs, a sexual abuse survivor, had just kicked off the “No More Secrets” national anti-sexual abuse campaign and wanted to continue reaching others who may be hurting through her widely read web publication.

“Turns out that this issue has yielded more testimonies than any other previously published, which we didn’t quite expect,” said Bertinelli. “For Dianna, it wasn’t about the numbers, but the ministry. So the overwhelming response has been a wonderful confirmation and blessing.”

Hundreds of prayer requests and testimonies of how the story impacted readers have been sent to EEW. Thus far, the page where the story is housed has more than 300,000 unique visitors.
