Just the other day, I posted an article about how streaming music is now dominating the way we listen to music in the US. So it's interesting to me that so many Indie artists are still using the old method of blogging and tweeting for people to listen to their music versus getting their music played on an Internet Radio Station.

I can tell you from my personal experience that I rarely listen to traditional radio. I listen to Internet Radio pretty much all day and most nights. I especially like the station IndieONE FM (http://IndieONEfm.com),
a station that we just launched with our partner National Talent Search USA. Not just because it's our station, but because only about 5% of the music in rotation is being played on US broadcast stations. Which means that I get to hear real music that no one else is playing or being paid to play (which you know is illegal - Payola). As a result, I've grown to love many of the songs in rotation.This is a true trailblazing way to break new music and create new stars in the industry. We're not falling into the status quo by any means.

I listen to other Internet Stations as well and the thing I love about them, and IndieONE FM (http://IndieONEfm.com), is you can truly discover new artists. I came across one station recently and I heard a couple of songs I'd never heard anywhere else. I immediately fell in love with the songs. One of the songs has gone on to hit the Top 10 on iTunes, which means it was selling very well due to the internet buzz. In fact, because the station is programmed to show the iTunes links of the songs being aired, I immediately clicked the link and bought the song while it was still playing. Now that's what I call persuasive selling.
