VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Jan. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- There's no shortage of music available online. The problem isn't selection -- not by a long shot -- the problem is making a selection. How do you pick new tracks for your playlist when there are literally millions of songs to choose from?

You can waste hours listening to songs at random, or you could always do what most people do and never stray from that same tired playlist you created in 2006 for your Zune (whatever that is.) The first option is frustrating. The second is boring. Thankfully, the internet provides a better option: getting recommendations from someone who was deeply involved in the music scene...so deep, as a matter of fact, that many of the recommendations will involve bands you've never heard of -- but should have.

That's where KNOWNEWWAVES comes into play. Created by an artist with an undisclosed name, this music blog will be providing a steady stream of recommendations that covers essential and unique songs from 1975-1985. The site is deliberately no-nonsense. This statement by the creator illustrates how it's all about the music: "And wah, there's no descriptions or history of the bands and yeah, some of it's sappy new wave and some of it's real punk but hey, nobody cares. Just listen."

If you can't jog another mile to "Call Me Maybe" and you're looking for a new sound, check out KNOWNEWWAVES here: http://knownewwaves.blogspot.ca
