CyberAlert Names First Three 2015 PR Grants Recipients

STRATFORD, Conn. - Dec. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Stratford -- CyberAlert has named the first three not-for-profit organizations to receive a 2015 PR Grant. The grant recipients are: Women for Women International, Canines for Service, and the Ontario Nonprofit Network.

The non-profit organizations will receive one year of free media monitoring service, with the option of either social media or TV news monitoring.

Nonprofit organizations can still apply for PR Grants by using the Online Application Form (https://secure.cyberalert.com/grantsX.html) at CyberAlert.com.  Application deadline is December 31.  All non-profits except previous recipients are eligible to receive a 2015 PR Grant. CyberAlert will announce the additional grant recipients in January.

Since 1993, Women for Women International (WfWI) has helped nearly 420,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. The organization directly works with women in eight countries, offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency. WfWI provides women training in vocational trades, health and wellness, and rights education so that they can earn and save money, improve their health and well-being, influence decisions in their homes and communities, and connect to a support network.

WfWI will use the grant to monitor coverage and messages that depict women living in its countries of operation as well as emerging conflict regions, gather baseline data of its global media outreach and improve placement of positive stories depicting the strength, courage and resilience of women who have survived war and conflict.

Canines for Service, based in Wilmington, NC, trains service dogs for people with disabilities. The nonprofit will use the media monitoring grant to help it learn how information about its program is shared on the web and to track media mentions of its program. Canines for Service will place outgoing links of those media mentions on its website to increase awareness of its dog training service.

The Ontario Nonprofit Network, located in Toronto, is the provincial network supporting Ontario’s 55,000 nonprofits and charities. It engages nonprofit organizations in public policy and advocacy and helps organizations throughout the province work together to support communities, develop shared opportunities, and find solutions through their collective expertise.

It will use the CyberAlert grant to monitor keywords and messages in Canadian national and community media about the impact of nonprofits on communities. The information will also be used to monitor and measure nonprofits’ success in obtaining local media coverage to improve media outreach.
