Local Artist Successfully Crowdfunds New Project

PHOENIX - Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Who knew this could come from algorithms?! Digital artist Jeff Davis creates abstract work using algorithmic processes. He is currently developing a new body of work titled "Location Series" for a solo exhibition this December in Bokeh Gallery at the monOrchid. The work consists of algorithmically generated abstractions that suggest architectural references. The resulting images appear to be abstractions of actual locations, but are simply the imaginary output of a computer program.

To fund the production of Location Series, Davis launched a fundraising campaign on the microphilanthropy site Hatchfund. Within two weeks of launching his project, Davis met his minimum fundraising goal of $4000. Fundraising for the project continues through December 11th, 2014, with additional contributions being used to professionally document the exhibition and develop a print catalog. All contributions are tax-deductible and project supporters have the opportunity to receive original artwork in return for their donations. Location Series will be on display in Bokeh Gallery at the monOrchid from December 5th until December 28th, 2014. The opening reception will be held on First Friday, December 5th from 6-10pm with the artist in attendance. An additional reception will be held on Third Friday, December 19th from 6-10pm.
