European Central Bank - November Meeting Pre-view 6th November 2014

European markets are expected to open lower today ahead of Novembers ECB meeting later today.

The European Central Bank, and its President is expected to make no new announcements today regarding whether it will continue to look at QE in the same vein as the US's Federal Reserve.

As Europe continues to show either stagnation or recession, many are starting to question Mario Draghi's resilience and how he has dealt with what is essentially a crisis within Europe.

Members of the ECB board have been quoted as saying they are unhappy with his leadership through this situation and that he has been far too quick to inject money into the system, even though what has been made available has not been taken up to its full extent.

With EU members staring down the barrel of a third recession many believe that the ECB's attempts to deal with deflation in the Eurozone has not been enough. Yet many also feel that the President of the Central Bank has been too quick to jump on the QE bandwagon and promises of definitive action to other large economies such as China and Japan who are looking to save themselves from the same fate.

It is a big day for the ECB's leadership, even if there will be no real new news, how what is discussed today is presented to the globe will be interesting to see.

What we expect is a lack of real commitment until Decembers buying program starts. Any further stimulus news would probably confuse the markets and would raise flags about how bad the European Economy is actually doing.
