The annual golf tournament for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will be presented by local pool contractors, Pool Pros, Inc. along side of Larue Pest Management.

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The pool contractors at Pool Pros, Inc. are co-presenting with Larue Pest Management, the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. The annual event will be the first one held at the newly renovated Fort Myers Country Club – 3591 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33901 on Oct. 31, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. It’s one of the chamber’s most popular events and sells out every year.

This is the sixth year in a row that Pool Pros has sponsored the golf tournament (https://www.fortmyers.org/events/annual-golf-turnament/), which is the primary fundraiser for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. The Education Chamber, as Pool Pros President Joe Mitchell calls it, has provided nearly $600,000 in grants to local school teachers, and this event helps keep the chamber moving forward. Mitchell has chaired the chamber’s education committee for three years. “I have 2 children in our public schools,” Mitchell said, “and I know what a challenge it is for our teachers. It sometimes becomes emotional when we get to hand deliver the grants to the teachers.”

Pool Pros has entered two competitive teams this year made up of employees, clients and friends, including a former professional golfer, Nolan Henke. In all, the tournament challenges 132 golfers playing a four-person scramble format.

The event starts early and the fun goes all day long. A local school’s ROTC present the flag, and a local student sings the National Anthem. “It’s now a great way to start the event while showcasing our local schools,” Mitchell said.

Participants get to enjoy samples from local restaurants including Jets Pizza, Bistro 4, The Edison Restaurant Bar & Banquet, Bahama Breeze and Square 1 Burgers & Bar, throughout the course during the 3rd Annual “Taste of the Chamber.” Life entertainment plays through the afternoon and at 6 p.m., participants have a chance to win $3,000 in the Helicopter Ball Drop!

Executive Director of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Colleen DePasquale says all of this energy stems from having two co-presenters. “They reinforce their faith in our Chamber and our event with their commitment. Joe has added his personality to the event…and each year we have a stronger program. This event would not be as unique if not for their involvement and support,” she said.

Non-golfers can also get involved in the action. There’s always room for volunteers on the day of the event, anyone can register to attend the reception, which is hosted by Outback Steakhouse, and chamber business members are encouraged to sponsor tee signs.
